Marlo Laz Is Home for the Holidays

Of course, I knew about jewelry designer Marlo Laz but didn’t fall hard for her aesthetic until JCK’s Brittany Siminitz wrote this ode to her superb initial charms. As per my own  holiday wish list, I’m super-duper into alphabet charms as well these days, and the brand’s newest style is inspired by the Southwest à la Georgia O’Keeffe and style icon Millicent Rogers. It’s a robust 1.25 inches long, gorgeously detailed, and I just…I’m beyond smitten with it.

But that’s not what I came here to say. For now, I’m focused on the other thing that Marlo Laz designer Jesse Marlo Lazowski has put out recently: Stella Mare, her first home capsule, because it’s tailor-made for gift-giving and self-care (which you will need after working this last hectic shopping week or having to spend time with relatives who still won’t get vaccinated).

Meaning “star of the sea,” Stella Mare is marked by two compelling features: a bespoke fragrance evoking an endless summer spent traveling to faraway lands, and objects created by centuries-old artisan methods in Murano, Italy, the famous Venetian glassblowing destination. The two come together in perfect harmony via two lavishly scented candles and the colorful vessels that hold them (pictured at top). The candle itself was also developed and produced in Murano—without the use of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, or animal testing.

In addition to candles, there are incense sticks in the Stella Mare scent made in partnership with a Japanese producer in operation since the 19th century. And Murano glass incense dishes with which to hold and burn them.

Bonus: They double as trinket trays.

The matches alone would be a perfect stocking stuffer or something to pair with a gift for your jewelry-loving hostess.

They also make a nice add-on to any of the items in the collection, as shown below.

Currently the collection is available on the Marlo Laz website. Let’s hope a strong response sparks a 2.0 range this spring!
